Writer and educator

Billie is a children’s writer based in Canberra. She spent her childhood immersed in books and magical worlds of mystery and adventure. She still likes a good adventure and can often be found rock-hopping along rivers, climbing mountains, or exploring the wide open spaces of land and sea.

Billie writes pictures books (fiction and non-fiction) and middle grade fiction.

Her debut picture book Creature Corridors is published by CSIRO Publishing.

For over 10 years, Billie has also worked as a lecturer in early childhood and environmental education, and she loves to share her passion for teaching with aspiring primary and preschool teachers.

Training

Billie has undertaken several writing courses with the Australian Writers Centre, as well as specific courses on writing non-fiction for young children, writing for the education market and novel writing.
